What a wonderful way to start this new year - being able to recognize the outpouring of support from all of you who cared enough to wish us well and send a donation in our time of need. Because of you, we can begin the new year with enough monies to rescue more animals and continue to treat those in need. Ski King Lee is doing well following heartworm treatment but Lucky Lady continues to be heartworm positive and will need additional treatment.  Sophie continues to make progress in her new foster home. And one of the best reports I get to share is that Dakota found his forever home!!! a beautiful person, Mary, who lives in Lexington, is dedicated to helping Dakota reach his fullest potential!!! She sees his inner spirit and does not see his blind or deaf challenges as disabilities but, rather, as unique attributes that allow him to see and hear others through his heart. AS the winter brings cold, our hearts are warmed by you and your acts of generosity and kindness. May you look out for the animals in need who have lost their way and may you continue to extend a helping hand to those in need of a warm place to sleep and some food and water to help them survive. County shelters are accepting blankets, treats, and volunteer time to walk and spend time socializing animals entrusted to their care.  (call us for contact information). My heart continues to be warmed by stories of caring persons taking in animals they see along the road. we are here to help with supplies and to guide  you in finding homes for these lost and vulnerable animals who need our help. thank you for all you do, and especially for your acts of kindness and caring.

Happy new year!!!

with heartfelt appreciation,

Kate Zink Hass, President ROSA's Rescue

I just want to take a minute to thank all the volunteers and caring people who take time out of their busy lives to help animals in need. Each life you touch truly makes a difference. The work of many rescues and shelters is possible because of caring people like you. You are the hometown heroes who deserve a pat on the back. My "hometown hero award" is only made possible because of each one of you. Collectively, we make up ROSA's rescue and the animals and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.   HOpe to see everyone at our upcoming events - Jalapeno's tomorrow, dog training camp Sept. 26! Thank you so much. Kate

Happy Easter one and all. Keep your pets safe by putting easter baskets with chocolates and grass away from the animals's reach. Easter basket contents can be very dangerous for dogs, especially.  As we celebrate this special time of year, may we send a special prayer out for all our suffering animals and a wish that they will find a gentle and loving family to call their own.  Thank you, again, for all your acts of kindness and generosity.  Hoping to see you at an upcoming Petsmart adoption in Eastgate or to hear from you regarding a volunteer or adoption opportunity.

Thank you all very much for your support at the Everything Pets Expo. Our volunteer team was incredible and we raised several hundred dollars to help chip away at that large vet bill from our sweet dogs who died of parvo earlier this month.  Wanting to invite you to our upcoming adoption events at Eastgate Petsmart. We need volunteers and we also need adopters.  Hope you will find room in your heart and maybe in your home to help us in our quest to find permanent homes for adoptable shelter animals and strays deserving a second chance.

P. S.  our knitters and crochet and sewing volunteers did a great job providing special items for the expo. thanks alot!!!

have a wonderful spring and practice acts of kindness every day.  keep smiling!! kate

3/24/09  - - Hello friends and animal lovers.  Please join us at the Everything Pet Expo on March 27, 28, 29, 2009 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati. We will have several animals available for adoption and have a new product for sale:  animal and spring design earrings. You will love them. Proceeds will help us pay our vet bills for the 2 sweet dogs who died unnecessarily of parvo from a county shelter in ky that does not immunize for parvo. What a sad time for us . . .  I will keep you informed regarding news in animal care, what our rescue is doing to make a difference, and share good stories as well as challenges we face every day.  Thanks for being a part of our efforts to change lives, one at a time, by finding loving homes for our animals in need. Remember, an act of kindess does make a difference.   With appreciation, Kate
