Benny is a 4-5 yr neutered male who loves to be around people. He was lost, taken in by a caring man who was unable to keep him. He took him to a shelter and his days were numbered so we rescued him. He is already learning to walk on a leash, loves to play ball and give everybody kisses. He is eager to get to know you and wants to jump up and say hi, He is learning to have more manners. His teeth need special attention and we will be brushing them every day. He had one canine extracted because it was cracked to the root. He doesn't let that interfere with his great appetite; when he arrived, you could feel every rib and vertebrae - he was very thin. Now he is beginning to fill out and look great. He doesn't seem to like cats so we need a home where they don't live. He is fine around dogs as long as you take time to introduce and teach him the rules. He has recently graduated from a special 7 week obedience training program (on Oct. 31) where he learned socially acceptable behaviors, and 5 basic commands: sit, heel, come, stay, and down. They also worked on his separation anxiety and fear of being left alone in a crate. We will never know if he was just stuck in a crate in the past and forgotten, and then just found a way to escape. But what we do know is that he is a very special guy just looking for the right family to love him.
